PrimeMLS is working toward becoming RESO Compliant. RESO is the Real Estate Standards Organization, an independent body formed to develop data standards and processes that create efficiencies for all participants in real estate transactions, focusing on streamlining data for all. 1. What does becoming RESO Compliant mean for PrimeMLS?
To achieve this data standardization, certain adjustments are made, including renaming or reorganizing fields, removing fields, or transferring selections within a field to a different one. These changes will impact both search and listing input/maintenance modules. These modifications are essential for ensuring consistency and compatibility across different systems and platforms.
2. Will listing data be lost?
Listing data will not be lost. Instead, it may be moved based on the new location of the field and/or selection within that field.
3. Why is PrimeMLS becoming RESO Compliant?
Being RESO Compliant means data is easier to read for everyone who receives it and sees it. There are over 500 MLSs in the United States, which means real estate information reaches vendors in all sorts of formats. RESO has created a set of rules (standards) for MLSs to follow so data can easily plug into various real estate websites, apps, and tools. Site updates and data accuracy all become a more streamlined process. This makes the process of sharing and displaying listings more efficient and reliable, benefiting everyone from buyers and sellers to agents and website owners.
4. Additional Information
Reports in Paragon and Paragon Connect, as well as the listing input forms (located in the MLS Documents section of Paragon) will be updated in accordance with the changes highlighted in each round.
