Searching Water Fields

In search, you'll find water fields, some of which include an "EX" in the name of the field. The "EX" fields are the legacy water fields. In 2020, PrimeMLS updated the water fields so that more accurate information can be entered into listing maintenance and therefore made available when searching for water inventory.

With this change, if data was able to be mapped from an old field to a new one, it was mapped accordingly. Upon this update, when agents edited listings with water data, the new water fields were required to be updated in order to save any changes; however, for historical listings (Closed, Terminated, Expired) from prior to 2020, it is unlikely that those listings would have been changed, so in search, it is important to utilize the EX fields if you are searching historical inventory.

This guide explains how data was mapped by each field.

 Note: "Water Body Access" and "Water Body Access -EX" fields are available in search. Upon implementation of the new water fields in January 2020, list agents with data in the "Water Body Access - EX" field were prompted to remove data in that field since it was mapped to the new "Water Body Access" field. For historical inventory, you may still need to make these selections when running a search.

Note: Most within Exterior Features have been mapped to the fields noted; however, the data has not been removed. At the list agent's discretion upon editing a listing, the data can be removed from Exterior Features. For historical inventory, you may still need to make these selections when running a search.  

**These selections in Exterior Features and the data entered have been removed from all listings and are now only available in the new field noted.

Note: the selections made within Association Amenities have been mapped to the new fields noted; however, the data has not been removed. At the list agent's discretion, upon editing a listing the data can be removed from Association Amenities. Note: *this selection in Lot Description has been removed and now displays in the new field(s) noted. The remaining selections made within Lot Description have been mapped to the new fields noted; however, the data has not been removed. At the list agent's discretion, upon editing a listing the data can be removed from Lot Description. For historical inventory, you may still need to make these selections when running a search.

Note: the selections made within Shore Rights have been mapped to the new fields noted; however, the data has not been removed. At the list agent's discretion, upon editing the listing, the data can be removed from Shore Rights. For historical inventory, you may still need to make these selections when running a search.

Water Body Name

The original "Water Body Name" field is now called "Water Body Name - EX." This field is only available for editing listings that currently have data in the field. Listing Maintenance now includes the new "Water Body Name" field, which is a picklist of all water body names in the PrimeMLS service area! Once you select the applicable State, the "Water Body Name" picklist will consist of water bodies within that state. We have encouraged list agents to remove data from the original water body name field (now Water Body Name - EX).
